Lars J. Carlson, O.D.

I'm not a winter visitor, but I definitely know why you may be visiting. I'm from Downers Grove, Ill. I graduated in 1997 with honors from Ferris State University with a BS in biology. I then graduated with distinction from Michigan College of Optometry in 2002. I moved to Arizona in 2005 and I'm truly enjoying myself here. I love sports, being physically active, staying healthy, and of course helping people to see the best that they can.

Trina L. Cheng, O.D.

Hi! I’m Doctor Trina Cheng. I am a California native, having gone to UC Berkeley, and then to the Southern California College of Optometry. I now call Arizona my home. When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching football, reading, and doing sudoku puzzles.

My specialty is pediatric optometry and vision therapy, for which I completed a one year residency program at the Southern California College of Optometry. Although my residency was a pediatric one, I see patients ranging from 6 months of age to 110! I look forward to meeting you.

Ramona Dillon, ABOC

Hi, I'm Mona. Though I'm originally from Indiana, I have lived in Arizona since 1977, so I feel like I'm a native. I began working at Gold Canyon Eye Center in 2005 and have met many wonderful people who have become good friends. I am a licensed and ABO certified optician, and have many years of experience assisting patients with their optical needs. It is my goal to make wearing glasses an enjoyable experience.

Faye Kallas

Hi, I'm Faye and my position as a receptionist takes on many jobs. My favorite is greeting and meeting the many patients. It is a very enjoyable and fulfilling job for a semi-retiree.

I am originally from South Dakota and have about 20 years experience in customer service. We moved to Arizona in 2004 as my husband and I decided to move to a warmer climate before we retire. We are closer to our children and grandchildren so we are able to visit them often.

I will be very glad to assist you when you call or come into our office.

Dawn S. MacKenzie, ABOC

Hello, I'm Dawn. I have been an American Board of Opticianry certified Optician for 23 years. My favorite part of my job is the frames! I love to look for new styles and help patients update their looks. I also enjoy learning about new technology that helps our patients see better and enjoy their glasses more. I have lived in Arizona since 1994, and am originally from New England. I studied electrical engineering in college and kind of fell into opticianry as a part-time job, the rest is history. I am married and have one daughter. In my spare time I run a youth football and cheerleading organization.
